Your parenthetical bit about the title made me laugh out loud—nicely done.

Thanks, too, for the rest of this. Good stuff. Yay for learning things, esp. things that will help you provide good guidance!

My parents taught me to look stuff up by telling me “go look it up” when I asked them what various words meant; I found that annoying as a kid, but it instilled a very useful lifelong habit. (I looked up various words in this post that I didn’t know by Option-clicking and selecting “Look Up”—an Apple feature that I’ve been finding very useful lately (and that would be more useful if it understood that words can have more than one definition.))

I bounced hard off of Taltos long ago (that was one of my first indications that I generally tend to dislike fiction in which death can be undone), so I appreciated your writeup here—almost made me want to go back to the series.

Am also looking forward to your writeup of the Beaton and Kuang books, neither of which I’ve read but both of which I hope to.

Hope the switch to Ghost goes smoothly!
